Ricetrasmettitore portatile FT-818 HF/VHF/UHF all mode (allegato il manuale utente in italiano). Incorpora tutte le molte caratteristiche di base ed attraenti del popolare FT-817nd, fornendo al contempo gli aggiornamenti richiesti al suo predecessore.
l'FT818 fornisce 6 watt di potenza di uscita con una fonte di alimentazione esterna.
Il pacco batterie NI-MH fornito in dotazione (32 mh) è stato aggiornato per fornire una capacità di batteria Maggiore (9,6 volt a 1900 MAH). Il nuovo FT-818 include anche un oscillatore integrato TXCO-9 che fornisce una stabilità di frequenza superiore al suo "antenato" ( 0,5 PPM) e la banda 5 Megahertz (WRC 15).
